Who we are
RankedName is operated by ALPHAOSCAR (EURL), based in Paris, France. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ALPHAOSCAR is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at the address in the "Contact" section below.
What we collect and why
We collect only what you choose to give us: your email address, and the text of your enquiry — the niche, brief or naming context you describe. We use this solely to prepare and deliver your report and to correspond with you about it.
When you buy a report, our payment provider collects the details needed to take payment. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and basic order information; we do not receive or store your full card number.
We do not buy data about you, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Legal basis for processing
We process your enquiry and contact details to perform the service you asked for (the performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one). Where we keep records of a completed order, we rely on our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate business and accounting records and on our legal obligations to do so.
Service providers who process data for us
We keep our stack deliberately small and use reputable processors, each bound to handle data only on our instructions:
Stripe processes payments. Resend sends the transactional emails through which we deliver reports and reply to you. Cloudflare provides our hosting and stores the data behind the site in its D1 database and KV store, and provides our website analytics.
No tracking cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless. It does not set tracking cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not follow you across other sites. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
How long we keep your data
We keep your enquiry and correspondence only as long as needed to deliver your report and support you afterwards, and then for a reasonable period in case you return with a related question. Records tied to a payment are retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of the data you gave us in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL — though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern with you first.
How to exercise your rights
To make any of these requests, email us at our privacy address. We will respond within the time the law allows and may need to confirm your identity first so that we disclose data only to you.
International transfers
Some of our processors — including Cloudflare and Stripe — are established in, or may process data in, the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as offered by those providers.
Contact
For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to us at our privacy email. A real person handles these requests.
